Directions by road from Fishguard (Abergwaun)
  • From Fishguard, take the A487 towards Cardigan (Aberteifi).
  • Pass through Newport (Trefdraeth).
  • After entering the village of Eglwyswrw, the Church is on the right and a small car park on the left.
  • Pass the car park on the left, and then turn left into a narrow lane
  • We are half a mile outside the village.
  • Follow the lane up the hill, go past all the bungalows and keep going up the hill. You will then pass a narrow farm lane on your left. Keep going and after 100 mtrs, where the lane widens, Ael y Bryn with a distinctive slated tower is on your left with a stone entrance and cattle grid.
  • Turn in across the cattle grid, where a warm welcome awaits you.
  • Parking is available on the tarmac drive.

 

Directions by road from Cardigan (Aberteifi)
  • From Cardigan, take the A487 to Fishguard (Abergwaun).
  • At Eglwyswrw, at the bottom of the hill and after the 30 mph sign, turn right into a narrow lane.
  • We are half a mile outside the village.
  • Follow the lane up the hill, go past all the bungalows and keep going up the hill. You will then pass a narrow farm lane on your left. Keep going and after 100 mtrs, where the lane widens, Ael y Bryn with a distinctive slated tower is on your left with a stone entrance and cattle grid.
  • Turn in across the cattle grid, where a warm welcome awaits you.

Directions by road from Carmarthen (Caerfyrddin)
  • From Carmarthen take the A40 to Haverfordwest (Hwlfford).
  • After passing through Llanddewi Velfrey, turn right at the Penblwin roundabout onto the A478 to Cardigan.
  • In Crymych you pass the large Preseli School on the right.
  • After half a mile turn left at the Crymych Arms onto an un – numbered but good road towards Eglwyswrw.
  • At the T junction of the B4332 turn left to Eglwyswrw.
  • Keep on this road for one and a half miles until you enter the village of Eglwyswrw.
  • DO NOT turn right onto the road sign posted to Cardigan with the (A487) in brackets. Stay on the B4332.
  • At the T junction of the B4332 and A487 (with the Church on your right and school on the left ) turn right onto the A487 towards Cardigan.
  • The village car park is 100mtrs on your left
  • After the car park turn left into a narrow lane. There is a red post box on the corner. We are half a mile outside the village.
  • Follow the lane up the hill. Go past all the bungalows and keep going up the hill. You will then pass a narrow farm lane on your left.
  • Keep going and after 100 mtrs, where the lane widens, Ael y Bryn with a distinctive slated tower is on your left with a stone entrance and cattle grid.
  • Turn in across the cattle grid, where a warm welcome awaits you.
  • Parking is available on the tarmac drive.

Note to Sat-Nav users: if you are not following the above directions but are following the shortest route, after passing Carmarthen it may lead you off the A40 onto the B4298 through Meidrim. This 'B' road is narrow in places and has some sharp bends. We suggest that you ignore the Sat-Nav instruction and continue towards St Clears and resume following your Sat-Nav's renewed instructions from there.

Carmarthen is served by one through First Great Western train from London during the week and on Sundays - however, please enquire with train operator(s) for details.
