Llanerchaeron is a rare example of a self-sufficient 18th century Welsh minor gentry estate.
The villa, designed in the 1790’s, is the most complete example of the early work of John Nash, the great Regency architect famous for the creation of Regent’s Park and Regent Street in London.
The villa has its own service courtyard with dairy, laundry, brewery, salting house, and walled kitchen gardens. At first sight the house is simplicity itself, a plain two‑storey box of stucco and slate, but Nash placed it with great care to make the most of the picturesque landscape.
Llanerchaeron is a National Trust property approx. 2 miles inland from Aberaeron along the A482.
